Everyone in the Queensland Community will know of the horrendous flooding that we have experienced since January 11th this year. Moggill and Bellbowrie were not spared, and whilst we are grateful that no fatalities were recorded in our area, the damage was extensive. The cleanup was assisted by an army of wonderful volunteers, as well as groups such as the army from Enoggerra barracks and the local Rotary club. Thank you to everyone who helped. We will try to fully acknowledge everyone as soon as we can. The full recovery will take months.
Thank you!
A sausage sizzle is being held on Australia Day at 4pm at the lower oval Moggill state school, Kangaroo Gully Rd to say thank you to all the volunteers who helped clean up the damage throughout Bellbowrie and Moggill
Moggill Girl Guides
Moggill Girl Guides were badly affected; the Guide hut was flooded and almost all the equipment was lost, whilst the hut has had to be internally gutted.
The Moggill Guide Leaders and the Guide Support Group have developed a recovery plan. Guiding families should all have received an email from their leaders. Guiding resumes the first week in February. We are arranging temporary accommodation; information regarding this will be sent directly to Guiding families. Girls Guides won't let something like a flood stop us! To find out more about Moggill Guides contact the district leader Cath Vaughan-Pow on 32010112 or email cath@powfamily.com.
Other contacts will be posted soon.
The Guide Hut after gutting and cleaning
We now have a major re-building task ahead. Thank you everyone who has helped so far. We need to replace everything in the hut, re-line the walls etc. This will all take time but will will make it happen.
Again thank you from the Guide Support Group and the Moggill Guiding team
